Getting there and getting about

Checked 2 November 2026.

Airport to Nusa Dua

Fly into Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS). The organiser calls BICC a 20-minute drive: take a taxi from the airport rank or book one with the Grab app. BICC puts itself about 10 km from the airport, roughly 10 minutes from the Bali Mandara toll road exit, and runs a paid car service at IDR 450,000 per car each way (Toyota Innova) or IDR 900,000 (Toyota Alphard).

Visa: e-VOA or visa on arrival

Nationals of ASEAN countries can enter visa-free. Most others, including British visitors, need a visa: the 30-day visa on arrival costs IDR 500,000, can be extended once for another 30 days and is single entry (GOV.UK). It covers meetings and conventions. The organiser suggests applying online for the e-VOA through the Indonesia e-Visa portal: applications open 14 days before travel, and it recommends applying at least 5 working days before you fly. Your passport needs at least 6 months left from the day you arrive and 2 blank pages.

All Indonesia arrival card

Fill in the free All Indonesia arrival form online (allindonesia.imigrasi.go.id) in the 3 days before you arrive. It covers customs and health. The organiser and GOV.UK both point to it.

Bali tourist levy

Every foreign visitor to Bali pays a tourist levy of IDR 150,000 (about £8, says GOV.UK). Pay it before you fly on the Love Bali website or app (lovebali.baliprov.go.id); you get a QR code that's scanned when you arrive at Bali airport. GOV.UK says you can also pay on arrival.

Your hotel

Two nights' accommodation (1 and 2 December) is included for non-local channel partners, at one of the forum's luxury partner hotels; check your profile on the event platform to see where you are. A room at the Westin isn't guaranteed. Extra nights are at your own expense, paid at check-out. Vendors and distributors get a booking link from their account manager, first come, first served.

Getting about

Most partner hotels sit along the Nusa Dua beachfront, and a path runs along the beach past them. Grab works for taxis. Free ITDC shuttle buses run to Bali Collection, the shopping and dining centre about 1.3 km from BICC.

Weather and what to wear

December in Bali runs from about 25°C to 31°C by day, humid, with occasional showers, and evenings rarely drop below 23°C. Casual business attire is fine all week: jeans and dresses are OK, and jackets and ties aren't needed. Pack workout gear and trainers if you're doing the 5K sunrise run.

Plugs

Indonesia uses type C and type F sockets on 230 V, 50 Hz. UK visitors need a travel adaptor.

Good morning, Vietnam! The 14th annual Canalys Forum APAC kicks off today in Da Nang. Looking forward to a few days of insightful presentations and fast-paced networking with a thousand channel leaders from across the partner ecosystem. Major topics will include the AI channel opportunity (of course!), the evolution of partner programs towards points systems, the continued growth of cybersecurity, and the vital role that channels and distribution play in the diverse APAC region. Great to be here with the Omdia team Karthik Jayakumar, Chiew Ling Low, Raine Tan, Carsten Boeckmann. Nothing like back-to-back meetings to help battle the jet lag!

We are live and off to a fantastic start. Sheena Wee, Principal Analyst at Omdia, just opened the event with a powerful keynote on the APAC Channel Landscape. Her key insights reveal a market in transition: 🔹 Sentiment is shifting: APAC remains the largest partner ecosystem - 319k strong and supporting a $1.5 trillion IT market - but volatility is real. Only 63% of partners expect growth this year as the market pivots from traditional reselling to service-led models. 🔹 The margin squeeze: Changes to vendor programs are rerouting incentives to different points of value across the customer lifecycle. Dependence on simple vendor margins now brings uncertainty, and small partners will likely feel this impact first. 🔹 AI is a capability race, not an experiment: half of APAC partners are already building AI use cases and solutions. The gap is widening-those who move now will define the market, while those who wait will be left playing catch-up. 🔹 Defining the winners: In this race to the future, success will be defined by four pillars: Vision, Specialization, Collaboration, and Localization. Stay tuned for more live updates and insights from Canalys Forum APAC 2025. #CanalysForums2025 #CanalysAPAC #ChannelEcosystem #Omdia

This morning’s “Breakfast with the Analysts” at Canalys Forum APAC 2025 provided a highly valuable strategic lens into the region’s technology outlook for 2025. Experts from Omdia offered in-depth perspectives on shifting consumer behavior, the accelerating adoption of AI across devices, the evolution of channel ecosystems, the intensifying competition in semiconductor and AI infrastructure, and the growing sophistication of cybersecurity threats. From Sheena Wee’s insights on consumer pragmatism to Nicole Peng’s view of Asia’s dynamic tech demand, Mark Iles’ observations on channel transformation, Aditya George’s analysis of compute and chip acceleration, and Maxine Holt’s warnings on AI-enabled cyber risks — the session highlighted one clear theme: the future will reward companies that innovate with purpose and build value beyond features. A concise but highly impactful discussion that sets the tone for what businesses in APAC should prepare for. #CanalysForums2025 #CFAPAC25 #Omdia #Canalys #Technology #AI #Cybersecurity #APAC #TechTimesVietnam

At the Canalys Forums 2025 2026 (APAC) in Da Nang, Vietnam. Our Managing Director Lance Cheang joined industry leaders and analysts to explore how organisations are moving from AI experiments to real business outcomes. Across the discussions, several themes kept surfacing, all pointing to how AI is reshaping customer experience and decision-making in the region: 𝟏. 𝐈𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐀𝐈. Many organisations are still figuring out where AI drives tangible value, not just automation. 𝟐. 𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐞. AI is enabling companies to read emotional cues, detect friction, and respond with precision. 𝟑. 𝐀𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐛𝐮𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐬. Teams can now spot patterns in customer behaviour earlier, helping them engage smarter and close opportunities faster. Forums like Canalys offer an important lens into how Asia-Pacific businesses are thinking about AI, not as a buzzword, but as a tool for solving real operational and customer challenges. VLAN Asia is excited to bring these insights back home as we continue helping organisations navigate their AI journey with clarity and direction. #VLANAsia #CanalysForum #AI #GenAI #DigitalTransformation #Leadership #CustomerExperience #APAC #BusinessGrowth #FutureOfWork

🌏 #Canalys Forum APAC 2025 Just wrapped up a few days at Canalys Forum APAC 2025 where the APAC channel community gathered in Da Nang, #Vietnam to share insights and strategies. Some key market trends I took away: ✅ Opportunity in Uncertainty. The central theme focused on thriving amid rapid tech shifts through agility, collaboration, and clear strategic direction. ✅ Generative AI at Scale. Moving from pilots to profitable solutions with governance and measurable outcomes. ✅ Channel Priorities. Cybersecurity resilience, MSP growth, and recurring revenue models to navigate supply chain risks, including examples like DRAM shortages impacting hardware availability. Innovation and partnership remain critical for success in a fast-changing tech landscape. So many new and old connections to be made at these sorts of trips. What a week at the Canalys Forums 2025 in Da Nang. Seeing familiar faces, finally putting faces to emails, and somehow kept making new ones, probably because no one could escape the coffee area. And of course, the question everyone asked me this week: “So… where’s the Forum next year?” I wish I knew. 🤣 Thanks for the conversations, the energy, and the laughs. See you all in 2026.🎉

Canalys Forum APAC 2025 has officially wrapped, marking the completion of a full global cycle of Canalys Forums for the year. Our journey began in Barcelona with Canalys Forum EMEA, where Europe’s channel leaders gathered to debate market shifts, AI disruption, and new routes to profitability. We then moved to Chicago for Canalys Forum Americas, bringing together partners and vendors across North and Latin America to address ecosystem consolidation, partner program evolution, and the future of customer demand. Finally, we concluded in Da Nang with Canalys Forum APAC, held 2–4 December, where the focus turned to one of the world’s fastest-growing and most diverse channel landscapes. Attendees explored new avenues for growth, gained exclusive market intelligence, and engaged in high-impact discussions shaping the region’s technology future. A huge thank you to our sponsors. Your partnership enables these global conversations and strengthens the channel ecosystem across all three regions. While the 2025 Canalys Forums have come to an end, the insights, relationships, and strategies developed this year will continue to influence the channel well into 2026. Follow our events page for highlights, deeper analysis, and updates on upcoming Forums. Thank you to everyone who joined us across Barcelona, Chicago, and Da Nang. We look forward to seeing you again in 2026.

Earlier this month, we headed to Da Nang for the APAC Canalys Forums 2025. The Canalys Forums are one of the biggest independent meetups for the IT channel, bringing together partners, distributors and vendor leaders to talk honestly about what's happening in the market and where things are heading next. It was a great chance to catch up with people from across APAC, compare notes and start a few new conversations for 2026. Big thanks to the Canalys and Omdia teams, the speakers, sponsors and everyone who made time to chat with us while we were there. #CanalysForums2025 #APAC #Channel #ITPartners #Cloud

I attended the Canalys Forum APAC in Da Nang, Vietnam last December, and it was great to reconnect with partners, see familiar faces, and hear perspectives on where the region is heading. Events like this always leave me reflecting on what we’re collectively preparing for. One question I keep coming back to is this: how ready are we for what’s coming next? AI adoption across the region is accelerating—we all see that. But what matters is how we use it. AI creates value when it’s designed to work with people. The idea of a dual workforce, where human expertise is supported by AI agents, isn’t about automation for its own sake. It’s about helping teams move faster, make better decisions, and stay focused on what truly adds value. As AI moves from experimentation to scale, the practical realities start to surface. Constraints are no longer temporary issues. With DRAM shortages expected to continue into 2026, planning ahead is becoming a strategic priority. In fast-growing environments, securing supply early and designing smarter from the start can make a real difference in how smoothly growth unfolds. At the same time, as AI and cloud usage increase, the way partners create value is evolving. Marketplaces and cloud services are shifting conversations beyond consumption toward optimization. Helping customers balance cost, performance, and efficiency is increasingly where long-term value sits. All of this rests on one foundation: security. A security-first mindset needs to be built into every AI, cloud, and infrastructure decision—not added later. The takeaway for me is clear: the region’s next phase of growth will reward those who plan early, work smarter, and collaborate closely. I’m looking forward to continuing this journey with our customers and partners as we navigate what comes next—together.
